Terms of Service

Please read these Terms carefully before using the IndexCore Android app and the web app at indexcore.app (together, the "Service"), operated by IndexCore ("us", "we").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of them, don't use the Service.

1. Accounts

• Accuracy: keep your account information accurate. Impersonating other users or providing fraudulent registration details violates these Terms.
• Security: you're responsible for safeguarding your password and session credentials.
• Premium status: some capabilities — leaderboard participation and real-time cross-platform sync — are gated behind a premium tier (Index Core+), available as a paid subscription through Google Play or granted at our discretion as a thank-you to Patreon supporters. We can revoke it for Terms violations.
• Age: you must be at least 13 (or your jurisdiction's minimum) to register an account.

2. License to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run the IndexCore Android app on a device you own or control. You may not:

• Copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the app's assets or code.
• Decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the app's source.
• Distribute modified builds of the app.

3. Connected Platforms

If you link PlayStation Network, Steam, Xbox Live, AniList, Hardcover, or Trakt.tv:

• You warrant you own the linked account or have authorization to link it.
• You agree to abide by that platform's own terms of service.
• We rely on those platforms' public APIs and aren't responsible for their errors, rate limits, or outages.

4. Leaderboard Fair Play

• Don't submit falsified trophies, playtime, or progress. Records must come from genuine linked accounts.
• We may audit linked profiles to verify authenticity.
• Detected manipulation can result in a ban, score wipe, or IP block.

5. Suspension & Termination

We can suspend, restrict, or terminate any account, at our discretion, for violations of these Terms, leaderboard manipulation, or behavior we consider harmful to the Service.

6. Comments & User Content

• Don't post content that's abusive, harassing, threatening, or infringes someone else's rights.
• By posting a comment, you grant us a non-exclusive license to host and display it as part of the Service.
• We may moderate, edit, or remove any comment that violates these Terms.

7. Subscriptions & Support

• Google Play subscriptions: Index Core+ can be purchased as a recurring subscription through Google Play, billed and managed by Google under their own terms. Manage or cancel it from your Google Play account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Patreon support: supporting us on Patreon grants premium status as a thank-you, tied to an active pledge. Contributions are non-refundable, since hosting and API costs are ongoing. Cancel any time through Patreon; it takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

8. No Data-Persistence Guarantee

IndexCore is offline-first: in Offline Mode, your data lives only on your device, and we're not involved in preserving it. Even in Account Mode, we don't guarantee against data loss from database issues or service interruptions.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee uninterrupted operation or that errors will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost data or lost use — arising from your use of the Service, third-party content, or unauthorized access to your account.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your local jurisdiction. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it.

12. Trademarks

PlayStation, PSN, Steam, Xbox, AniList, Hardcover, and Trakt are trademarks of their respective owners. Integrating with their APIs doesn't imply any affiliation or endorsement.
